Arizona summer heat is deadly especially during an auto lockout!

Tyrann Mathieu, Arizona Cardinals safety, demonstrates that during a tame summer day of 90-degrees sitting in the car with the windows rolled up can quickly reach 120-degrees! Think about that for a moment…

Sometimes on accident a car lockout occurs when a pet or child is left in the car during a summer hot day; but when a driver decides to leave kids or pets in a car while they run into a gas station for a “few minutes”, the blazing heat turns their vehicle into a hot-box.
The only advantage a human has while being in a hot car is that they can sweat to cool down – that is why it is important to drink a lot of water during the summer. However, a dog can not sweat.

A dog can only pant to try and cool down (in other words, when a dog is breathing hard its because they are trying to pump air into their body to try and cool their internal organs).

Sometimes we make mistakes and accidently lock our keys in the car – and sometimes our children or pets are in the vehicle. That is why it is important you double check to make sure you have your ac on, windows rolled down and extra keys in your wallet or purse before leaving your vehicle unattended.
